The Chosen

Set on Baramurr - a secluded frontier planet of the Galactic Coalition - a young boy, Erim, following the death of his mother finds himself on offer in the slave markets. In mourning, abused, and alone he turns to his faith for protection and discovers he is meant for far more than the life of a slave.
