Monsoon Letters

Monsoon Letters

“Monsoon Love” is a poignant story set against the rainy backdrop of Delhi. It follows Aanya, a poetic bookstore worker, and Rohan, a gentle photographer caring for his sick mother. Living in adjacent apartments, they begin exchanging handwritten letters during the monsoon—notes tucked between balcony bars—sharing observations, worries, and dreams. Their friendship blossoms as they bond over city life, books, and familial struggles. Aanya helps Rohan heal after the loss of his mother, and together, they pair her poetry and his photographs for a bookstore exhibition celebrating the kindness found in rainy streets. Yet, the city that brings them together eventually becomes suffocating for Rohan, whose sorrow lingers and deepens. As monsoon fades, so does his ability to stay—he must leave Delhi behind to seek his own healing. Aanya, heartbroken but stronger, continues to write and nurture connections in her city, remembering the beauty and ache of their brief, transformative bond. “Monsoon Love” explores themes of love, loss, resilience, and the power of quiet acts of kindness—revealing how even fleeting relationships can leave lasting marks, and how sometimes, letting go is the greatest act of love.
